This is an aquatint and line etching intaglio with chinecolle.
Gut flora are the critters who live in your guts and help you digest your food. As a result of this symbiotic process, they produce gases, colloquially known as a "fart." Also, a percentage of the waste you pass is actually theirs. When YOU die, they digest you and produce the gasses of bloat, and eventually turn you into person-soup.
Last semester in printmaking the assigned theme was "food" and I chose to focus on the sub-theme of digestion. This is also the postcard image for the Last Impressions UAA Print Club show opening September 16th at the Student Union Gallery, and will be present.
